A Sweet Evening

Tuesday night of this week we along with our Celebrate Recovery community had our Thanks-Giving celebration. We stepped up and out of the schedule of CR and did our own thing. Deb, along with her loving Father, made the plans for the evening. All of us leaders played a role in the night and it was probably the best CR night we have had so far in the past two years. To have the participants play such a significant role in the night was wonderful and thankfully God gave them the courage to stand up and share some pretty significant and personal stories which blessed all of us. To me it has become even more evident that this ministry is made by the people who come. That I and the other leaders are only facilitators who, with the help of the Spirit, guide our time together and keep us on track. When I can step back and see how beautiful our time together is and realize that if I was not there it would be just as beautiful I am happy. As the ministry leader it is easy for me to take on the weight of carrying this ministry. But I know I cannot and I know if I tried I would fail. I am there for a purpose and I need to let God guide that purpose and not forge it with my own ideas, my own controlling or pride. I just need “to be”. Anyways… all praise to God for that night. Deb had done such a great job putting the night together and than dropped into the background and watched as the night unfolded. She as well as the rest of us leaders were amazed and blessed. What does this have to do with photography?… well nothing but I will post a few shots from the night. Tonight I will head to the Metrodome with Al again to shoot another Northwestern College game, the Victory Bowl. Should be an awesome time and a great chance to work with the 70-200mm 2.8 lens… woo hoo! Peace (is it OK to put an exclamation sign after the word peace or is that contradictory?)
