Minneapolis Professional Headshots | Minneapolis Portrait Photographer

I have recently done several Minneapolis Professional headshot portrait sessions. Rather than do an individual post for each of these sessions I just thought I would post a representation of them. It seems I have been doing quite a few of these corporate portrait sessions for Minneapolis professionals. Maybe it is time to update your image on LinkedIn, Facebook or other social or professional sites. I would be happy to help you out.

Ben’s Senior Session | Minneapolis Photographer | Class of 2013

Funny how you can take thousands of pictures and not seem to have taken many of family… funny for me anyways.
Ben here is my nephew and has been all his life. I have watched him grow from a little boy I babysat and teased from time to time into a young man I respect. I sort of look up to him… well I have to, he’s taller than I.
Ben is a senior at Irondale High School. Ben is also goalie for his hockey team and has been for several years. He’s tall for a goalie but he makes it work. His team mates would testify to that.
It was fun to go out and shoot this session with Ben. We actually did not shoot as many pictures as I normally would. Partly because he’s a dude and most dudes aren’t keen on tons of pictures. On the other hand we talked alot. I was very happy with what we came away with and totally enjoyed my time with him. I thought he was going to give me the “I don’t want to do this.” but instead he seemed to be totally into it which helped immensely to make this session rock.

Here is some of my favorites from our time together.
Have a great senior year Ben! I cannot wait to see what you do and where you go.

Jaimie’s Senior Session | Minneapolis Photographer | Class of 2013

Jaimie attends Eden Prairie Senior High School and stays quite busy in her free time. She spends a great deal of time at Circus Juventas and has for some time now.
She had just finished up performances with CJ in the Summer 2012 performance of Showdown. I was amazed by how much time, work and effort Jaimie told me she has to put into such performances. She has a great sense of humor and an awesome smile and of course a wonderful personality.

We had a perfect night for this shoot. Although you wrestle with a pretty tight timeline these evenings with the sun setting so quickly.
It was great to get to know Jaimie as well as her Mom that Friday evening.

Here are some shots from Jaimie’s session. Thanks Jaime and have an awesome Senior Year!

Bailey’s Senior Portrait Session | Minneapolis Portrait Photography | Class of 2013

Bailey is a Senior at Eagan High School.
We photographed her session one evening at her Aunt’s home and also made use of the neighbor’s yard. Both were kind enough to allow us to use their beautifully landscaped yards for the shoot.
Bailey is involved in theater production at her school. While we did not get a whole lot of time to chat between clothing changes, scene changes and racing to beat the dropping sun I did get a feel that she has a very kind and calm demeanor. I enjoyed our time together and how she was able to make the most of the spaces we were working within. I also got to meet several of her family members which was equally as nice.

Have an awesome Senior year Bailey!

Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer | Sarah and Krist | Engagement

I headed out to Watertown, MN on Mother’s Day to meet Sarah and Krist. We had spoken briefly on the phone and exchanged several emails. I was excited to meet them as well as finally see some of Watertown as I had never been there.

I was meeting them at Sarah’s Grandfather’s farm which has been in the family for several generations. I had no idea what to expect… which as a photographer can make things quite interesting. I was very excited once I saw the farm and truth be told we only used a small portion of all that was available to us there in regards to settings. Another hour or two would have been fun.

Sarah, Krist, Sarah’s Mom and I sat in the house for awhile just talking and getting to know each other. It was a neat rustic farm house… it felt like home by anyone’s standards. I won’t go into the long version but Sarah and Krist had worked with another photographer already so while I was excited to work with them I also knew they had a good idea of what they wanted and I wanted to provide that for them.

I absolutely loved this session. Sarah and her Mom breed Australian Shepherds (you can visit their website here) and so they wanted to have one of them in some of their photographs. I had no idea how beautiful these dogs are and was blown away when I got to meet Minty. Her eyes were amazing and she was so much fun to include in the shoot.

It was a pleasure meeting Sarah and Krist as well as some of their family that afternoon. Minty won my heart over… if I did not have cats I’d get a dog just like her. I look forward to Sarah and Krist’s wedding later this Summer/Early Fall.

Minneapolis Company | Corporate Headshots | Minneapolis Portrait Photography

Last week I had the opportunity to do a quick corporate portrait session with Convey Compliance Systems Inc. located in Minnetonka. We basically shot in three different locations throughout their building. Both indoors using strobes and outdooors with natural lighting. I did not know how many people would be involved going so I was surprised to find out there would be thirteen. Everyone was a pleasure to work with, very relaxed and quite accommodating. The shoot went smoothly and without a hitch. Here is one selected shot from each individual. I provided a color and black and white version of each image they received.

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer | Jillian and Brent | Engagement

I met Jillian and Brent at a Caribou near my day job last year. I think we spent about two hours talking that night, good times. It was easy to see the fun they have with each other and the love they share. Their wedding is not scheduled until October so it was awhile before we saw each other again.

It was great to hear from them again in March as they put together plans for their engagement session which they wanted to do in April. They had some great ideas. One of the spots they wanted to shoot in was Inver Wood Golf Course in Inver Grove Heights. Brent had proposed to Jillian on a golf course (and it sounds like it was an amazing time… wished I had been there) so a golf course definitely seemed to be spot on. The people at Inver Wood were so accommodating. We had to work with them to find a time conducive to good lighting and also would not interrupt or disrupt the golfers out on the course. Thank you so much Inver Wood for all your help. They even provided us the kindest gentleman (Elmer) to cart us around the course.

We first started out at Lake Harriet… after the rain stopped. It was one of those days I thought would require a postponement of the shoot as the day had been so dismal up until about an 90 minutes before the shoot. The sun came out and while it was a bit windy and chilly Jillian and Brent pulled off the e-session in championship form.

Thanks Jillian and Brent for persevering through the chill and wind and thank you Inver Wood Golf Course for being so generous and kind.

St. Paul Wedding Photographer | Lisa and Dan | Engagement

I met Lisa and Dan for the first time at Nina’s Cafe in St. Paul, a wonderful place. They told me about their wedding plans which sounded AWESOME. When I asked about doing an e-session they did not feel they needed to do one at this point. So, I explained… it is included in my wedding fees and that the wonderful part about it (even if you don’t want to do one) is that we get to spend some time together. My clients get to see how I work and I get to see how they behave (or misbehave) in front of the lens. But more importantly it is a time to just have some fun together and develop a relationship that will carry us into the wedding day.

Lisa and Dan were wonderful to shoot with that morning in St. Paul. I truly enjoyed my time. They were both relaxed and just wanted to have fun with it. It’s easy to see the love and joy they share and the fun they have together. I was delighted they brought along Mazey (who you see in some of the shots). She was also wonderful to work with and totally at ease with the camera.

Lisa and Dan chose to shoot in St. Paul as that is their home. As they put it… “we love our city”. They chose Mears Park and Harriet Island as two places they wanted to head to. Their choices worked out great and the weather was nice for a mid-March day in Minnesota.

I am so looking forward to their wedding in May. I love what I have heard about the day. So, here are some shots from our Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago.

Paul Nye | Musician and Songwriter | Studio Portrait Session

Paul Nye, is a Musician, Singer, Songwriter who resides up in Walker, MN. He is putting together a new CD which will be released this Spring. The more I learn about Paul the more impressed I am. I just noticed on the liner notes of his last CD that he played almost all the instruments. I don’t know about you but that just blows me away. His newest CD, as his previous release, is a collection of songs for children. Parents and children alike will love this music and I encourage you to check it out here. He also has his own website. Paul also puts on some 80 shows during the Summer at the Woodtick Theatre in Akeley, Minnesota. If you get up to that neck of the woods I encourage you to check a show out. Deb and I are planning on it this year.

Paul and I had been in contact for a couple of weeks and he let me know he was headed to the Twin Cities and wanted to connect and get some shots. I was grateful to have the opportunity to work with him. I had a great time getting to know him and look forward to connecting again soon.

Here are some shots from our time together that afternoon.
