Weekend Work | Minneapolis Photographer

A little break between Minneapolis weddings has provided some time for portrait work. This past week I had a professional come in for a portrait session but I also had the pleasure of some more “fun” work.

I shot Bailey’s 2013 Senior Session as well as The M Family’s annual portrait session. It was great to work with Bailey and meet her family. More to come on this session soon. It was a great pleasure and joy to meet up with the M Family for another yearly session.

Did I ever state I have the best clients? I do, and I love working with them. My goal is to translate that love into what I deliver.

Here are some shots from the past couple of days.
More to come on both of these Minneapolis photo sessions very soon.

Minneapolis Wedding Photography | Tracy and Preston

I met Tracy and Preston for the first time early this year. At that point not much had been finalized so when they booked me I only pretty much knew the date of the wedding so it was fun to hear of it all coming together. I was excited to know they were having an outdoor wedding. There is a huge difference from a photographer’s point of view, at least mine anyway, as to shooting in an indoor venue as opposed to outdoors. Most of my weddings seem to be indoors.

We shot some of their e-session at the park the wedding would take place. It was awesome to get to know them a bit during the e-session and made me that much more excited for their day.

The wedding took place on a beautiful day, although a bit cold in the shade, and was wonderful. Lots of family and friends there to celebrate these two coming together. It was easy to see they were well loved. It was a full day and I experienced my first camera failure during this wedding. However, not a problem due to having two backups. To say this day was filled with love and fun is an understatement. The pictures here are evidence of that.

Congratulations Tracy and Preston and thank you for inviting me in to be a part of your day. God bless!

Minneapolis Wedding Photography | Connie and Isaac

Ever read a book that you wish never came to a close? That is how I felt with Connie and Isaac. Such beautiful people on their own. Put them together and you have an awesome team. Not only were they so much fun to work with (loose definition of work applied here) but they just radiate love, warmth and happiness. The journey to their wedding did indeed come to a close as I knew it would and as I knew it should. I am not only grateful I was able to shoot their wedding I am sincerely and wonderfully appreciative that I got to meet and know them.

They will, without a doubt, have a wonderfully blessed marriage. I am humbled to have been there for the start of this new journey.

Here they are… Connie and Isaac… family and friends.

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer | Tracy and Preston | Engagement

Tracy and Preston will be getting married in September. It promises to be a beautiful early Fall wedding. It was fun working with these two and getting to know each other during the session. Besides getting some great photographs of couples together the other primary reason to do e-sessions is to develop relationships.

For their session we hiked around a nearby nature center and then headed over to the wedding ceremony site which is a wonderful park I did not even know existed. Before we headed out though I got to meet their two gorgeous huskies. Such sweet dogs and I love their eyes.

So, here are some of my favorites from the session.

Enjoy!

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer | Connie and Isaac | Engagement

Last winter (you remember, that beastly thing that would not die until mid-May) Deb and I met Connie and Isaac as they were planning their Summer 2011 wedding. We really enjoyed meeting them. Some people you meet and you are just immediately attracted to them because of their personalities, their demeanor and just who you “sense” they are. I was excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of their day.

For their engagement session we had two postponements due to weather (remember the Winter that would die?) but we finally made it out to Lake Harriet on a rainy Sunday morning. I got their early and as I walked around I prayed for a break in the rain. The break came just before Connie and Isaac arrived… thanks God! We still got caught in a downpour but it was not a big deal. I had such a wonderful time with these two beautiful people and such a difficult time whittling down to a handful of images to show you here. As much as I love all of these images there are others I love just as much which are not here. I hope you get to see those some day too. There is a good chance we all might get out again to get some shots we were unable to get due to the rain and I will share those if it happens.

I have rambled excessively haven’t I? Without further ado here is Connie and Isaac!

Durbins Summer 2010 | Minneapolis Portraits

I met Reid and Autumn at a park in Bloomington on a late Summer day. It was one of the last really warm days we have had this past season. We managed to find some places to shoot out of the blazing afternoon sun and here are some of what we came. I love their precious children and their great personalities. What a wonderful family. So fun to get out with them all again. Love you guys!

Enjoy!

Mother and Daughter | Minneapolis Portraits

I had the great pleasure to get out with Kari and her daughter last Sunday to do a session. It was a hot, and I mean hot, day getting hotter by the minute. We started about 11:00 so the sun was not at its kindest but we managed in the heat and glare of its light.
Kari’s daughter was so much fun to hang around with. We started at the park and then she was excited to show me “her” tree at their home. She loves to climb on this old tree shown in the images. We even managed some time with the family dog.
I enjoyed our time together and the opportunity of rising to the challenge of heat and light.

Here are some of my favorites from our time together, enjoy.

Kim and Beau | The Journey Begins | Minneapolis Engagement Session

Kim and Beau will be getting married on September 3rd. I am so grateful that they asked me to be their photographer. Such great individuals but an even better team, and they look just so darned great together it would require effort not to love them.

For this shoot, their e-session, we wandered to some of their favorite shared places around town and then ended the session with a delightful breakfast at one of their favorite spots, French Meadow Cafe in Minneapolis.

I had such a good time with them both. Here are some of my favorites from the session. Thank you Kim and Beau!

24 in Duluth

Deb and I took a quick one day trip up to Duluth. I had not spent a night up there in two years and was looking forward to the visit. Deb had just been up there the weekend before and said it was freezing. This was not the case when we were there. It was gorgeous, hot and sunny.

Here are some images captured during the trip. All were shot with the Canon 40D which I have recently begun using a bit more than I had after buying my 5D (first edition).  Some of the shots are available on my store site if you are interested in purchasing a print.

Balloon Girls | Minneapolis

Sometimes things just happen. You have to be alert, you have to be ready and above all you have to react.

I had just finished the Schirmers session and I heard laughter behind me. Never one to miss a laugh, especially when it sounded so darned cute, I spun around and saw these three angels running at me with their balloons. I dropped to my knees and started shooting. The girls were so cute and these shots just warmed my heart and put a smile on my face so I wanted to share them with you. I hope they do for you what they do for me… bring a smile to your face and  warm memories of summer days lost in the innocence of youth to your mind.
