Joshua and Lindsey’s Minneapolis marriage proposal was my first shoot of a “live” proposal.
Joshua had contacted me a little over a week preceding the event to see if I would do it. I was “all in”. Together we decided Lake Harriet might be a good place to do it. It offers some seclusion as well as just being a beautiful park in Minneapolis. We agreed on 7PM one Saturday night. Deb and I arrived quite early and spent time wandering around looking for a spot to oversee who was coming and going. I had some snaps that Joshua sent me of the two of them so I knew who I was looking for, which certainly helped. I also knew he had put together a photo book of their relationship so far and on the last page was “the question”. They were going to find a spot and then he would share the book with her. Well it turned out to be a spot with out much cover for us so I just pretended to be shooting Deb…. we moved around a bit but it was hard to not attract attention to ourselves. Well, she got to the last page of the book, Joshua dropped to one knee… people passing by started honking their horns… Joshua asked and Lindsey accepted.
Here are some shots of how it all unfolded. We really enjoyed doing this and hope to be doing it again soon.
