Kate and Jacob’s Northfield wedding was a very special day for me. I had known Kate for several years and I had run into Jacob quite often. You see I used to work with Kate, and Jacob came in often to take her to lunch. It had been a couple of years since I had seen Kate. She is a teacher at an elementary school in St. Paul but we had kept in touch via Facebook. When I heard they were getting married I was so happy for the both of them. You can hardly imagine a better couple. Both with great personalities, fun and easy-going. I was three times as happy as that when she and Jacob asked me to meet them to talk about photographing their wedding. It’s a little daunting shooting a wedding for a friend but I would not have missed it for the world.
Their ceremony took place at Boe Memorial Chapel on the campus of St. Olaf College where both Kate and Jacob had attended and graduated from. What a lovely ceremony. As a double blessing it was officiated by Jacob’s sister in law.
Between the ceremony and reception the bride, groom and bridal party made their way around downtown Northfield for drinks and snacks. Eventually everyone wound up at the venue for the reception the Grand Event Center of Northfield. I had never been there but fell in love with it and the old theatre look it had.
It was an amazing day of family and friends overflowing with love.
A very memorable wedding indeed.
Thank you Kate and Jacob for allowing Deb and I to be a part of your wonderful day!
