Dan don't sell yourself short. You have made some awesome black and white street shots that blow me away. You really should enter some into contests.

You are so right on people paying for poor photography but that will always be how it is... fact of life. Doing good work and maintaining its visibility is about all we can do and market like crazy.

I would love to borrow those books from you. I am two books out right now so it will be awhile. Thanks for the offer.

You are absolutely right... I did say that. I really don't know what I feel about making photography a business. At times... I do, because I need to fund some gear needs. Other times, I don't, because I really just enjoy it for what it is. Then again... it does frustrate me when I see people pay high dollars for poor photographs. :) ( Yours are excellent so don't you worry! :)

Ultimately. I read David's first book, Within The Frame, and I loved it so much I decided to read all three of his. If you ever want the other two, just let me know! :)

I'm a big learner. I have no talent, so I put in the time gaining knowledge. I find it fun and its the only way that I'll ever produce a good image ;)

Thanks Dan for the comment. I have not read anything else by David but possibly in time. I had to chuckle when I read your post as I recall a conversation where I asked you about this book and you said you had no interest in it as basically you had no interest in photography as a business... and maybe you still don't. I just found it interesting that you had indeed decided to read it. Good for you, it is a good read.

Visionmongers was a pretty decent book. I really liked the business-bios as well. I found visionmongers a little basic (maybe because my life is sales and marketing), but very encouraging. And David is always a good read. His first book was by far his best though. Have you ever read any of his Craft & Vision e-books?
