Deb usually works every Sunday morning at our church. Many times I too go to church (Again, as I usually go Saturday evenings.). But sometimes I have photography, or other work to do, or sometimes… I just prefer to be lazy and rest.

This past Sunday morning I had image editing work to do but I also took advantage of some time to get outside. The light was beautiful so I thought I would try to get some self portraits of myself. I don’t really have the stuff to do this efficiently… I generally do not wish to take pictures of myself. It generally just ends up being an effort of frustration.

So here are two shots I came away with that were “ok” by me. I had not shaven or combed my hair but I had showered. So here is me in a pretty relaxed (non-primped) state. By all measures a pretty good morning.

So… take some time this Summer and just be. Enjoy the peace of the morning, the warmth of the sun on your face, the breeze in your (uncombed) hair. Enjoy life for the gift it is and the joy it holds. Measure your days by the peace they hold rather than by all that you got done. Keeping in mind there is peace in work too but it is more elusive then when at rest. Take time for yourself, relax, breathe… just be.
