Don’t Steal!

The Frisky Otter in Ely MN intentionally misuses artwork from the web. I have reached out several times to call them on this privately but no response and a continuation of this practice caused me to post this.

The Frisky Otter in Ely Minnesota screen grabs photography from stock photography sites and uses it to promote their restaurant without compensating anyone for the artwork… this is stealing and I have made them aware of this.

Realizing their behavior has not changed I decided to dig deeper and I have found images of plated food they post on their FB page that has been taken from another site on the web. Any of the good-looking photos on their website, of food, were most likely taken from a recipe site or another restaurant. Perform a Google image search to prove it to yourself.

A business that steals or tries tricking people into spending their hard earned cash by fooling them or by promotions created from stolen photography is sad and wrong. That does not trouble me as much as it does knowing the owner is aware of what they are doing and chooses to not right the wrong. #thefriskyotter
